# Kevin Languasco

Distributed Systems Engineer at Cloudflare in London, working on the ClickHouse Platform.

I'm a software engineer based in London, where I work at [Cloudflare](https://www.cloudflare.com) as a Distributed Systems Engineer on the ClickHouse Platform team. Most of what I build nowadays is in Rust or Go, with AI assistance of course.

Before that, I spent four years as the lead data engineer at [Haystack News](https://www.haystack.tv/about-us), a San Francisco news streaming startup, where I led the data platform evolution as we scaled to millions of users. Earlier, I was a backend engineer at [La Positiva Seguros](https://www.lapositiva.com.pe/wps/portal/corporativo/home), an insurance company in Peru.

I studied mathematics at the [Pontifical Catholic University of Peru](https://www.pucp.edu.pe/), doing an exchange semester at the [University of Oklahoma](https://www.ou.edu/) and taking PhD-level classes in the Summer Program of the [Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA)](https://impa.br/) in Rio de Janeiro.

I'm passionate about music, tracking everything I listen to on [Last.fm](https://www.last.fm/user/kevinalh) since 2014. I also play bass and guitar regularly. In a past life I enjoyed answering questions on [Stack Overflow](https://stackoverflow.com/users/2616577/kevin-languasco).
